It’s coming to the end of this project and everything is coming together as planned! I’m really excited to start playing songs on it.

Well I finished weaving all 12 of the dream catchers with conductive thread. They are all connected to the red wire (as shown in the pictures below). The red wire was really helpful because it will not conduct to the other wires or conductive thread that it is next to, unless the red is scrubbed off with sandpaper to reveal the copper.

Last week I put the Makey Makey up and worked with the Funkey Simple. I like it because it is flat and I will be able to put it in the wooden box that I have, and also there are more places to connect to.

Now that all of the dream catchers are finished and the wires are all connected the way that I want, I am ready to move on to the last step: 3D printing a ring.

This ring will serve the purpose of holding the conductive wire (connected to the “ground” on the funky simple) close to the persons finger, so that while they are playing the dream catchers, they will be conductive with them.

I have designed a ring in Tinkercad that has cut out heart shapes so that I can easily place the wire through. I am pretty happy with my design, I made it red to match the red wires on the project.

The two things that I need to figure out are:

How to print this ring if it doesn’t have a base

..and how to adjust the size of the ring so that it is not too big or too small

After this, I will connect the wire to the ring and everything should be able to work as planned! I’ve been testing it out as I go to make sure I’m not running into any problems. So far so good!
