So far for the progress on working on my “electric harp” I have looked at many videos on you tube, here are a few of them that I thought were interesting. There isn’t an electric harp out there that I know of with makey-makey, but these videos show different possibilities.

For my original idea with the 3D printed harp, I thought that I should make notches in the design where the strings will stay, but after looking at some images of how harps actually are, I have seen that they actually have nobs that the strings are tied to. This will look more appealing with the finished product.
I have also looked at the spacing between the strings on actual harps, I will need to have my strings slightly farther away. This will keep the conductive thread from touching two fingers at once and creating 2 sounds at the same time.
As for scratch, there are people that have created pianos, guitars, harps and all different types of sounds. I have looked inside the projects to see what it is that they are doing and it is making a little more sense to me now. For making the individual strings have a specific note, I have downloaded garage band on my phone and I want to try having different sounds that you can alternate between when playing the harp. For example, there are violin sounds, drums, piano, guitar and many others to choose from. I think I want to record these sounds because they would sound more clear compared to if I recorded them on my own with the actual instrument.
I have photographed a few of my classmates comments when we presented before spring break. I think that it is great that they offered to help, especially since I haven’t really worked much with conductive thread or makey-makey.
I can’t wait to see how this project will turn out. My next step will be the designing of the 3d printed harp. I’ll have to figure out the dimensions that I want it to be.
